The Political Constitution of the United Mexican States grants the inhabitants of Mexico the right to defend their life, patrimony, family and security, and to this end grants them the right to possess weapons in their homes. However, this right is subject to certain limitations, since they may not possess those weapons that are prohibited by law, nor those weapons reserved for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces.

Article 10: The inhabitants of the United Mexican States have the right to possess arms in their homes, for their security and legitimate defense, with the exception of those prohibited by Federal Law and those reserved for the exclusive use of the permanent Armed Forces and the reserve corps. Federal law will determine the conditions, requirements and places in which the inhabitants may be authorized to carry firearms.

Persons may possess firearms of those permitted in the Federal Firearms and Explosives Law in their domicile, that is, in the place where persons have their permanent residence for themselves and their families. The possession of firearms in the domicile must be declared before the Secretary of National Defense (SEDENA) for its registration.

An air rifle can be shipped by parcel post.

Countries like the United States have lax laws on civilian carrying of guns, however, other territories, including most nations that are part of the European Union, are stricter about their laws, regardless of whether they are firearms or BB guns.

The fact that the legislations are a bit tougher in these countries does not mean that it is impossible to obtain a gun if you want to. This is even easier when it comes to BB guns.

BB guns are compressed air guns that, as the name suggests, use air to be able to propel their projectiles efficiently. They differ from firearms because they do not require gunpowder and because they are not considered lethal weapons.

These types of weapons are mainly used in sports disciplines, such as shooting, a sport recognized in the Olympic Games. In addition to this use, some countries allow riot police to use these guns to disperse or control riot demonstrations.
