How do you clean clear plastic containers?

Cleaning clear plastic with baking soda

First you can try lemon. Mix two cups of water and half a cup of lemon oil. Spray it directly on the surface, then rinse with water and wipe with a dry cloth. This will clean the plastic, remove stains and restore the shine.

Wash the clear women’s crab shakers with dishwashing soap, then pour a little hydrogen peroxide into a bowl filled with tap water. Put your transparent women’s sandals in there for a few hours and then it is important that they air dry but not in direct sunlight.

It is actually a chemical process of mixing a mixture of chemicals called “retardants” that makes it a less flammable and safer product. But it is this mixture between the polymers of the plastic and the retardants that makes the plastic turn yellow. And if you also add heat, air, natural light… All this helps this process to become even faster.

And if you are not convinced by this experiment, we are going to give you another tip, to see if this one works for you. Take baking soda and with a little bit of the set of a lemon make a paste with which you have to cover the phone case. Let it act for about 30 minutes. Then rub with a sponge to leave the case perfect as it was before. Rinse with water and ready.

Plastic containers (plastic bottles, plastic bags, plastic containers such as yogurt, butter, cleaning products, etc.), beverage cans and food cans, tetrabricks, porexpan trays, aluminum foil, transparent film, etc.

The collected glass is taken to the recycling plant, cleaned, everything that is not glass (labels, glue, etc.) is removed and crushed into powder. This serves as raw material to manufacture glass containers such as the original ones to make bottles, light bulbs, jars, etc.

The collected material also goes to the respective recycling plants, where it is shredded and compacted and transformed into large paper bales. These bales are then hydrated to create paper pulp that goes through a cleaning process. Once dry, it is ironed and rolled into reels for distribution to paper mills. Recycled paper is used to make new boxes, toilet paper, sacks for construction materials.

Basically anything that if you left it in a bag after days it would rot. Waste of organic matter, of vegetable and/or animal origin. Remains of food or gardening. They are normally taken to parks where they are converted into compost that is mainly used as organic fertilizer. It is also used to generate biogas, a type of renewable energy used to produce electricity.

The best waste is the one that is not generated. Therefore, the first thing we have to do is to minimize the waste we generate, thus complying with the first rule of sustainability and the Circular Economy.

Everything that is collected from the containers, in what is known as selective collection, is taken to a waste separation plant. And that is where, in the case of packaging from the yellow container, the waste is separated according to the type of plastic.

PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastic, which is found in bottles and other food packaging, is one of the most common, and also the easiest to identify and separate.

At Eko-REC’s recycling plant, several trucks arrive daily (of about 24 tons each) full of what is known as “bales” of bottles, that is, plastic bottles perfectly pressed, so that they take up as little space as possible and the transport efficiency is the best.

The first thing that the recycling machine, where the bottles are introduced, has to do is to correctly filter the garbage that is introduced, since “all that glitters is not gold” and not everything can be recycled. A lot of “waste from waste” is generated.

How to clean scratched clear plastic

1. The first thing you should do with that bottle you want to clean inside is to place it under a stream of hot water and rinse it. If there is hardened mold (horrors!) you can fill it with hot water along with some soap and let it sit for about 20 minutes.

5. If once rinsed you detect that it is still not completely clean, you can fill it again with water and soap or try a mixture of white vinegar and warm water in equal parts, leaving it to stand for hours. Now, when you rinse it, the inside of the bottle will be spotless.

First tip of all, don’t forget to clean the stopper! Although the bottle is clean, the stopper is also a fundamental part that must be taken care of. Remember that it is in direct contact with the area where you place your lips when you drink. Cleaning it with soap and water will be enough.

Regarding the way we have detailed on how to clean the inside of a bottle, if you use baking soda remember that it creates a reaction similar to when you shake a can of Coca-Cola. Open the bottle slowly and over a sink to avoid turning your house upside down.
