For Grupo Devlyn, no one should be excluded from the privilege of seeing well, and in this sense, as a socially responsible company, through the Devlyn Foundation we work permanently, carrying out actions in favor of the visual health of those who need it most. An example of this is the Gift of Good Vision program.

This is a social program sponsored by Rotary International, the Mexican Red Cross and Grupo Devlyn, which aims to help low-income people who do not see well -especially the elderly- to acquire prescription glasses that will help them improve their vision and, therefore, their quality of life.

Solidarity eyeglasses

Refractive errors can be easily corrected through the use of eyeglasses. Yet millions of people living in low- and middle-income countries do not have access to basic eye care services. Lions have recognized this urgent need to distribute corrective lenses and collect good glasses in their communities to continue their support of the Lions Recycle for Sight Eyeglasses for Sight Program.

What to do with old lenses

Most of our patients when they finish their treatment wonder what to do with their old glasses, since once they have corrected their refractive defects or presbyopia problems they no longer need to wear glasses.

Glasses with prescription lenses are a medical device that may be used for you. However, for a person from a less developed country it may be the solution to all their vision problems. With this idea, there are many opticians that collect them to donate the glasses to people in need.

On the other hand, we have a glasses case that is usually so thin that it is not suitable for sunglasses. If we have no one to give it to, we may just throw it away. Instead of throwing away the glasses case, we can give it a totally different use as a transport for the cables of our gadgets.
