Why we should recycle
Another benefit of this practice is that it reduces dependence on petroleum, since less energy is needed to manufacture a product from recycled material. It also reduces pollution, incineration and decomposition in landfills. These are the main emitters of gases that cause the greenhouse effect – a phenomenon by which gases in the atmosphere retain the heat emitted by the Earth.
“Recycling is the most economical method of waste management. Many materials such as aluminum and glass can be used several times, which multiplies the benefits of recycling,” emphasized Hillary Meda, director of Reciclatón.
Importance of recycling for the environment
Population growth and the consumption of goods and services have increased the amount of waste and solid waste. This work proposes recycling as an alternative for the management of solid waste (paper, cardboard, glass and plastic) produced in Las Minas de Baruta. It was carried out in three phases. Phase I, dissemination of the recycling proposal, to make known its scope, advantages and benefits; phase II, elaboration of the diagnosis of the study area to identify, describe, analyze and evaluate the problems of waste management; phase III, structuring of the project with the actions for its implementation. The interview technique was used and field visits were made. Recycling is proposed as a program for the reuse of solid waste in the sector, including the collection and separation of solid waste, the transportation system and the sale of waste.

What is recycling?
The sea is a very affected area by the invasion of plastics. The floating particles of plastic resemble zooplankton, which causes this waste to end up in the stomachs of seabirds and marine animals, posing a great risk to marine life. Research has shown that these wastes affect approximately 270 species worldwide.
It is vital to recycle and reduce the use of plastics in our daily lives. Do not ask for bags at the supermarket, try not to buy so many packaged products and buy in bulk, in short, change the way we consume this material and become aware of the environment.
Why it is important to recycle for children
On May 17, World Recycling Day is celebrated with the aim of raising awareness in society about the importance of treating waste properly, so as not to contribute to climate change, and thus protect the environment.
The possibilities of recycling are many and necessary for the environment. This day reminds us that excess waste is a danger to our health. So you know, get going and RECYCLE!!!
