Suicide Squad hits theaters this week, with a team of villains-turned-heroes at the helm, but do we really know who’s who in the new DC Comics extended universe movie?

Harley Quinn is a relatively new addition to the squad, since 2011 from the New 52, and in a short time has become essential to their dynamic, mainly because of her experience as a psychiatrist. Harley is a skilled manipulator who serves Waller in the best way possible. Currently, Harley is part of the ‘Suicide Squad’, but she also has her own comic book series where her life after the team is told.

Katana began her life as a superhero alongside Batman in Batman and the Outsiders and after that she has been part of different groups such as Justice League of America and Birds of Prey. She also starred in her own series in 2012, always as a mysterious samurai who uses a sword inhabited by the soul of her late husband. Katana recently joined the ‘Suicide Squad’, in Suicide Squad Most Wanted, and after the movie she will remain a key part of the group.

Eddie Thawne “is transferred to the Central City Police Department, his past being a mystery and hiding a dark secret”. Since he has the same powers as Barry, he will become a powerful adversary.

Leonard “Len” Snart first appeared in Showcase #8 (1957) using a gun that could create extreme cold. “We’ll learn about his origins and the origin of the Rogues,” stated executive producer Greg Berlanti.

After appearing in The Flash #117 (1960), Harkness became a boomerang expert after some tough training. He will appear in a joint episode with Arrow, titled “Flash vs. Arrow” and “The Brave and the Bold.”

Mardon is another classic comic book villain who appeared in The Flash #110 (1959), and has the ability to control weather conditions. Rook will play a regular role during the season.

Multiplex is Firestorm’s arch-enemy in the comic book Firestorm #1 (1978), and has the ability to create powerful replicas of himself. He appears in the episode “Fastest Man Alive” and is described as a villain who “multiplies himself”.

Martin Stein (born March 16, 1950 – died November 28, 2017) was a renowned physicist and leader of the F.I.R.R.E.S.S.T.O.R.R.M. project, about which he co-wrote a report with Jason Rusch. He was one half of the transmuted metahuman Firestorm.

Stein was the leader of the F.I.R.R.E.S.S.T.T.O.R.M. project and went on to publish an 800-page report about it with Jason Rusch as co-author. Wanting to get help with the project, Stein turned to an unknown source.[4] Stein’s first contact with the F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. project was a friend of his.

Martin Stein took a train to Central City, coincidentally meeting Barry Allen, who was returning home from Starling City. The two interacted, discussing Albert Einstein’s theories and even Barry’s situation with Iris.

That night, Martin was near S.T.A.R. Labs and ended up in the middle of a protest against the particle accelerator, which had just been activated. Martin dropped the Firestorm Matrix he was carrying in a briefcase and picked it up, but was hit by the wave of fire from the accelerator explosion and his body merged with Ronnie Raymond’s, as the wave had Ronnie’s particles in it. Stein has been considered “missing” ever since.[5][2][5][2
